Published its creation in the Official Bulletin of the State of Sonora on August 27, 2012, the Technological University of Guaymas began operations on September 3 of that same year, in response to the commitment to meet the needs of the Sonoran population, and in compliance with the provisions granted by the General Coordination of Technological and Polytechnic Universities.
							
							The main objectives are to promote a quality education, as mentioned in the programs of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the State and training of social relevance as the model of Technological Universities indicates.
							
							The Technological University of Guaymas represents a very important option in our region at the level of Higher Education, which provides students with the tools, knowledge and skills to achieve their integration into the workplace in an efficient and effective manner.
							
							That is why a considerable effort is made to strengthen the capacity of institutional planning, linkage with the productive sector, expansion of educational offer, boost productivity culture, promote institutional values, position existing educational programs and strengthen the teaching staff at through training and research. To organize the efforts and establish a shared vision of the work team, currently the University is directed by our Rector Dr. Pedro Guillermo Mar Hernández, who transmits his clear vision of contributing to the achievement of the strategic objectives, to strengthen this project for the benefit of Sonora's students.
							
							The Technological University of Guaymas, has in its academic areas the opportunity of the progress of the economy and the society in which it develops, creating spaces for research, development and innovation of high value products and services, that is why our institution aims to significantly increase the educational offer, improve infrastructure, high percentage of job placement as well as the achievement of keeping graduates and employers satisfied, receive new students and define strategies to support the population of the region.
